Born in Madera, CA where the Stiebs processing facility is located, David Vargas joined the Stiebs Team to run the Arils Division. After graduating from Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo in 1996, David completed a Master's Degree in Food Science at Oklahoma State University in 1999.
Vargas has worked in both the beef and raisin industries and was prepared for new challenges. He joined the Stiebs to aid in the development of processes to separate the pomegranate arils from the hull, and store the ruby red kernels while maintaining the fruit's flavor, texture and color. David enjoys working with innovators in the food industry to improve and develop new products. The growth of the Stiebs Arils Division has introduced David to new concepts, ideas, and markets for pomegranate consumption.
